My Quick Takes:
- 4.25/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
- Genre 📚 contemporary romcom
- Language 🤐 mild, God’s name in vain, one use of strong
- Spice ❤️🔥 heated kissing/closed door
- Content 🤔 sleeping around, traumatic childhood experience, themes of divorce
I forget how well Katherine Center balances the comedy and character depth.
I chuckled out loud and teared up multiple times throughout the plot. My favorite trope is childhood friends to more and she created so much depth and history for the relationship to draw upon.
A few of the plot points weren’t my personal favorite, like lots of sleeping around between side characters, and my star rating reflects that. The other titles of hers that I’ve read didn’t have that theme throughout.
At the end of the day, I love Katherine Center’s writing style and voice. I listened to this on audio and really enjoyed the narrator!
