The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie (Hercule Poirot #6)

My Quick Takes:

- Genre 📚 murder mystery
- Language 🤐 mild, God’s name in vain
- Spice ❤️‍🔥 none
- Content 🤔 extramarital affairs, murder

She got me good.

I’m realizing that I enjoy the Poirot books where Hastings is not present 😅 maybe he will slowly grow on me as I continue the series but I just can’t fully get on board with him yet. I loved the multiple points of view and lack of Hastings in this one. (Sorry not sorry)

This book starts a bit differently than the previous 5 books as Poirot doesnt enter the chat until around 30% into the book. I personally loved having that much time to get to know all the key players and try to figure out what the stakes were and where the story would go.

As always, just when you think you’ve figured it out, Christie proves you wrong. I took notes while listening to the audio and they prove I had no clue what was going on 😅. And what is it about trains? Something about the forced proximity and time tables of a train schedule just make a murder mystery plot hum. I can’t wait to read more!
