I’m going to be completely honest, I read this book years and years before I started reviewing books how I do now, so I only have a 5 star rating on this title, no review. I’m going completely off of memories and vibes here, so no formal quick takes for you either. I can say that my mom also loved this book, so it has her stamp of approval as well.
This book sits at around 260 pages, so its short and makes a quick read. I remember reading it in one sitting and loved it. Its the first book I remember reading and loving in the epistolary format. It is written completely with letters and set during World War II on an island off the coast of England in the English Channel. I remember the characters being unique and heartwarming. This is definitely a book I need to revisit with a reread so I can give it a proper review. Its one I’ve recommended time and time again over the years.
