For fans of Rebecca Ross, Ellen McGinty has a beautifully lyrical writing style.
A fantastic debut that only left me wanting more. McGinty lives in Japan and I love the Japanese inspired fantasy realm that she’s created. This is a book with the beloved fantasy character of dragons, but with a Japanese twist, which I personally found unique and fun. I have so many questions about the lore and world building that I would love to see fleshed out in another novel. I hope to see more adventures and trials from this realm that McGinty beautifully crafted.
I hosted this book as a monthly read aloud on Instagram and the overwhelming consensus was that readers LOVED this book! I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Jane Maree, was PHENOMENAL.
