Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

My Quick Takes:
- 5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Language 🤐 mainly mild with infrequent strong. God’s name in vain
- Spice ❤️‍🔥 none
- Content 🤔 themes of suicide, sexual innuendo

Could not put this down. It almost felt more science than fiction, which I didn’t hate. Had a foot squarely in the real world. Highly recommend going in as blind as possible.

The main character had a great sense of humor that counterbalanced all the scientific info throughout. His passion for science is almost infectious for the reader, and that’s coming from someone with an art degree. As with most science based books, there were continual themes of evolution but none of it was for the purpose of pushing a message or specific narrative.

I binged the audio, even though I’m not the biggest fan of the narrator. I forgave the narration casting choice due to the use of sound effects throughout the narrative and plot. If you can get to the 25-30% mark of the audio you’ll be hooked. This solidified that I need some more sci-fi in my life!
