I’ve done a few different versions of a Bible in a year reading plan, and while it never looks perfect, it is always a humbling and growing experience for me to be consistently in the word every single day, and even more so when its with the clear purpose of working through the entire Bible.
Pairing a Bible in a year plan with a year of praying for my children is such a sweet prospect, so far I’ve loved the short devotionals that go along with the reading plan and I’ve tried to intentionally journal the prayer prompts either in my prayer journal or in the pages of my Bible. Like I said, it won’t be perfect, I will miss days, probably try to catch up, or just skip to what day I should be on, but the fight to be in the word day in and day out is worth it.
If you don’t think you have the capacity to fit a Bible in a year plan into your day, you’re not alone! When I started my first one, I was deep in the throes of being newly postpartum, and heading toward the road of postpartum depression. Reading through the Bible on my phone in the wee hours of the night while feeding my newborn (who is now 6!) was the lifeline I desperately needed.
I encourage you, wherever you are on your journey, to find a reading plan and start it! I did mine that first year February to February, it’s never to late to start a 365 day study 🫶🏼 If you want app/plan recommendations I’d love to point you to some, I’ve used a handful of different ones now!
