- Spice ❤️🔥 none
- Content 🤔 murder, themes of extramarital affair
A collection of four short stories, readers get a fun character study of Poirot and Agatha Christie’s plotting variations.
I’m not usually a fan of short stories or novellas because of lack of character development, but since readers have so much character depth to draw on from other Poirot novels these are always so fun. It’s hard for me to form opinions of who I think may have committed the crime because by the time I’m thinking through it Poirot already had it solved 😅
One of the stories isn’t a murder mystery, it’s a theft, and I thought the themes around the theft (the impending Second World War) were very interesting. The first two short stories I rated 4 stars and the final two I rated 4.5 stars.
I listened to this on audio and a different narrator narrated the first short story (he was a bit rough) but at some point the reader is rescued by Hugh Fraser for the final stories 👏🏼
