I was NOT expecting to get emotional, but here we are.

The biblical allegory is clearly presented in this middle grade. As the third book in this series, it’s been the best so far. I love a series that just gets better and better.

Alos, can we talk about the fact that this book allows middle grade readers to dip their toes in a chonker fantasy?! This book sits at just over 400 pages and is the book with the most complex plot so far, so here for it!

There are multiple scenes where the biblical allegory clearly presents the gospel within the narrative. Along with all the plot intricacies, the main character is personally going through an internal struggle to trust self or the Christ figure (think Aslan, but he’s a unicorn named Pax) and the ending made me tear up, which I was not expecting at all.

This one ends on a cliff hanger so you know I’ll be reading book 4 of this 5 book series soon!

Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this book to read and review.
