Hallowe’en Party by Agatha Christie (Hercule Poirot #35)

My Quick Takes:
- 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Genre 📚 murder mystery
- Language 🤐 mild, God's name in vain
- Spice ❤️‍🔥 none
- Content 🤔 murder/death of children

Another Christie mystery that I couldn’t guess. I’ve decided that she withholds too much from the reader to make it so, or at least that’s what I’m telling myself 😅

I did latch onto a character at the beginning, a character that seemingly had absolutely no involvement, and did a full send on them being involved in some way. In the end I was right, but I was unable to link that person to the murder until Poirot explained it to the reader in the end 🙃 I have a long ways to go.

I’ve been reading the Hercule Poirot series in order and am through the first 4 books. I jumped into this one for the Halloween season and I was not ready for all the remarks about poirot’s age and if he was going senile, etc. Halloween Party is the third book from the end 💔 so I’m glad I still have much more time with Poirot reading through the rest of the series.

This is probably on the lower end of the Christie novels I’ve read just because I personally don’t like when children are involved in the plot of murder mysteries, too close to home for my mama heart.

I did a mix of audio and the physical book for this one because there were so many different names and people at the beginning. I had to reread a few sections in the physical book to get my bearings.
