What a debut! This is my second Sanderson, I was softly introduced to the cosmere via Tress of the Emerald Sea. I was planning to read Mistborn next but my husband started Elantris (his first Sanderson) and convinced me to join him. Since this is Sanderson’s debut I assume it can only go up from here!

I had a few world building issues in the beginning, mainly just wanted more info because I have questions 😅 however, my questions may just be my own and not anything that would trouble the average reader.

There was a lot of lead up and plot development for everything to happen all at once at the end of the book. Normally I think this kind of pacing would bother me but the world Sanderson built needed a lot of development to get it where it went in the end.

All of that being said, the ending was wild! So much happened and the pacing picked up tremendously. I listened to the audio and also switched into the ebook here and there. Overall I’m exciting to keep reading Sanderson.
