My new favorite Courtney Walsh, I’m not even kidding.
This felt like a breath of fresh air in the romance genre. In a world of plots centered around characters in their 20’s, I loved that the female main character in this book is in her late 40’s, 47 to be exact. While I would classify this as a romance, it does have some good comedic relief.
I’m not one to buy into the “I need to focus on me” narrative, and I loved how Courtney Walsh wrote a character in a season of life where the only person on which she could focus was herself. Claire, newly divorced with a daughter abroad for grad school, truly went on an adventure of rediscovery and the reader is happily along for the ride.
Can you believe Courtney sent me a copy of this book?! Signed and personalized?! It’s book mail like this that makes me want to pinch myself. Brighter than Before is so beautiful in person, I love the bright cover, definitely one worth having on your shelf!
